so i'm a little late with updating...
...our thanksgiving break started with our town's annual Santa parade. the biggest parade around here. it's lovely. here's the end with Santa and his reindeer. i think brooklyn ran up to just about every figurine there was - big boy, santa, a bird, etc. she loved it - especially the bag she filled up with candy!
our church had a float in the parade advertising the yearly nativity exhibit they do. it was cute to see all the kiddos dressed up!
it was actually quite nice outside. other years it has been bitterly cold but this year was quite comfortable. don't mind brooklyn's constant covering of her ears - she absolutely hates any loud noises - sirens, band, music, etc.
then i was really brave and hosted thanksgiving at our house this year. unfortunatly justin's family couldn't come up because my sis-in-law is preggo with twins and couldn't travel and justin's mom had to work. so it was just my mom, stepdad, sisters, and some of our friends.
like we don't eat enough food on thanksgiving i had to start the morning out with GIGANTIC cinnamon rolls. they were the perfect end to a morning of shopping (yes that's right, my mom climbed in to bed with me at 5am on thanksgiving morning to ask if we were going out shopping. of course i agreed and after we stuffed the turkey and got it in the roaster and we ventured out for a paper and then had a lovely morning together).
the day was filled with lots of yummy food and a packed fridge full of leftovers.
we can't forget looking at ads, planning black friday shopping, lots of chatting and laughing, and of course some games. especially ones that may have burned a few calories.
and of course some football watching did get thrown in there along the way. these two and their couches!!!
a day full of food, fun, friends, and family - it couldn't have been more perfect!

by the end of the day (or more like the middle) i think everyone was a little pooped but - i think i just might be up for hosting again :)
