Easter

This year Easter was once again full of all the wonderful traditions that this time of year brings.

I was lucky enough to be teaching Sharing Time at church (a lesson for all the children) on Easter this year which lead me to keep my mind focused on the Savior more than year's past. The girls loved reading stories and learning about Jesus and the Resurrection. What an incredible miracle it was and gives us such a beautiful thing to be grateful for this holiday.

Our week started with the usual dying of Easter eggs for Family Home Evening that week. This year our eggs were decked out with glitter and sparkles (one of the perks of only having girls so far).

(By the way - these are some classic faces for my children. I'm so glad the camera caught them. Brooklyn's face looks exactly like my very own "cheerleading" face from high school. And Addy - well we see this face all too often - that girl is too much!)

Addy was brave enough to go for the hard boiled egg and try it out. It lasted a couple of bites and then it was handed over to daddy. Brooklyn on the other hand wouldn't even come close - just like her mother :)

Saturday included the much loved and looked forward to egg hunt. We get together with friends and the kids have at it. This year I wasn't feeling well and ended up staying home but Justin did an awesome job of taking some pics. In year's past we've always done it in the morning but this year the hunt was hosted at night. We waited till dark and then the kids went hunting with flashlights in hand. It was something new to us but the girls had a blast and it will definitely be something we do again!

On Sunday morning the girls awoke to eggs scattered all over the house and Easter baskets full of goodies. All the grandma's and grandpa's gave goodies as well so our house was loaded with lots of yummy treats and fun toys!

After church we headed home for the traditional Easter ham with all the fixings. My dad was able to come up and the girls had a bawl the rest of the night playing with him, blowing bubbles outside, and devouring the giant chocolate bunnies he brought for them. We were also able to chat with Justin's family and my dad's family including my grandpa on the IPAD.

By 8:15 the girls were snoozing hard as their tired little bodies hit the sack after a fun filled weekend that couldn't have been more perfect!
