Towards the end of the school year Brooklyn's kindergarten class had what they called an, "Author's Day." We were able to come and see the entire class perform all kinds of fun songs they have sung throughout the year to not only have fun but learn so many concepts.
They then presented us with tons of stories they had written themselves. It was so neat to see how much her writing has progressed throughout the year, the kinds of things she chose to write about, and even her part in making a class book.
We were so lucky to have my parents come on up for Brooklyn's special day and she was thrilled. She loves her family being there but to have grandparents there made it extra special for her. We are so grateful they are close enough to be able to come up for the day and couldn't thank them enough for taking the time our of their busy schedules to make her day so special.
No fail I end up crying when they put on their special performances. Christmas program = tears. This program = tears. The last song for this performance was "What a Wonderful World" complete with the sign language they learned for it. It was so moving to see all these sweet innocent 5 and 6 year olds and to think of the life they have in front of each of them. They are so amazing and I'm looking forward to hopefully watching each of them grow throughout the years here in elementary school.
