This summer was in large part devoted to swimming and bike riding. We spent countless days and hours upon hours practicing both of these skills. The girls did absolutely awesome and I was so proud of each of their improvements over the summer.
We started the summer by taking swim lessons and then ending up buying a summer pass to the local community center to be able to use their pool. We went several times a week to practice swimming with the girls. Addison started getting more comfortable getting her face wet, going under water, and by the end of the summer could even doggie paddle for a bit on her own. Brooklyn started jumping in all by herself, treading water, and could swim a good 20 feet without any help now. I was so impressed with them both! That pass sure paid off :)
Besides the pool we spent just about every night before or after dinner practicing riding bikes without training wheels. I thought potty training was by far the hardest thing I've done yet but this might top the list as well!!! Poor Justin practically broke his back every night trying to get them riding on their own! By the end of the summer both girls could ride down our entire street without help from dad. He still needs to be there to get them going and help them stop but other than that they were on their own! It was so fun to see them attempt and do well at a skill they were both so fearful of :)
