{january}

 You know I live in Michigan right? You have seen the weather channel this winter right? It is bleak, and depressing, and rarely above negative anything. It sucks. Especially this year.

Thankfully I have running buddies and they are awesome. And as long as it has been above -6 at 6am we are out pounding the pavement (or ice or powder) for a morning run 4 days a week. We are crazy. I know. Luckily we prepare and know how to dress and stay safe and nobody has gotten frostbit yet!

Lots of snow and lots of wind and lots of low temperatures have called for many a snow days. On one of our many days off school the girls collected some snow and we attempted to make some snow ice cream. Liked by some but not by all.

We never ventured outside and made the most of our life indoors. We played dance dance on the wii.

 Made Oloaf pancakes for breakfast - which I have quickly learned that my children don't really like ANYTHING in or on their pancakes besides syrup - who doesn't love a little chocolate chip?!?! crazy kids...

We took field trips with school to go bowling - so funny to watch and so fun! We love preschool!

We played inside and made great use of empty toy containers and laundry baskets. Elle definitely gets pampered as she has her own bowl of popcorn AND gets pushed around by her sister. That girl lives the good life!

Elle began walking at the beginning of January and has not stopped or slowed down since. She gets into absolutely everything!!! Toliets, trash cans, even daddy's pop that she found hidden :)

We played playdough, and painted, and colored, and made rubberband bracelets.

We kept cozy in cute matching sweatshirts that grammy bought for us - although honestly, rarely do we even make it out of our pajamas these days!!!

We passed time by having playdates with friends and eating way too many yummy treats this winter.

 Elle discovered her love of greek yogurt and will not let me eat mine in peace without throwing a tantrum till she gets her very own - to which she promptly goes to town on as well as smears everywhere - her hair usually first. We like to call her Santa with that lovely white beard!

 And just for a good laugh if you made it through this killer of a post - here's mommy dressing up as a princess one snow day. The girls insisted I wear a dress - so here I am in all my glory - no bra, no shower, wild hair, no makeup - this is what winter has done to me ;)
