Valentine's this year happen to fall on a 4 day weekend from school. We were thrilled to do go out and do something special over the long break.
Our weekend started off with Brooklyn's school Valentine's party. The kids were actually surprised with a special valentine from Lou E. Loon (the mascot of our local minor league baseball team). A parent had actually gotten him to come and surprise their son for his birthday - but it ended up being fun for all of them! They were all so excited and loved having him there to play around with.
After loads and loads of yummy treats and fun games we took off and headed down to PaPa Baer's house for a special weekend trip.
We had thought about taking the girls to an indoor waterpark to get away from the never ending cold here in Michigan and had booked a room at a somewhat close hotel to stay for the night. But then my dad caled and said he wanted to take the girls to an indoor waterpark - Kalahari to be exact - which is actually the largest indoor waterpark under one roof in the U.S. We were thrilled and jumped at the chance!
The girls loved our 2 bedroom suite and all the fun jungle themed decorations everywhere.
This place was awesome. The inside was huge complete with a lazy river, lots of kiddie areas, a wave pool, and slides galore. Other than the water park the hotel had many places to eat, a huge climbing structure for the kids, bowling, an arcade, etc.
The girls weren't timid one bit and had a blast getting tubes and going in the wave pool - I think that was their favorite part.
Elle was in love and thew a fit every.single.time we tried to get her out of the water. She loved it there and there was even stuff made just for her size! She had a blast going up and down the rubber made slides and playing all over the toddler area.
So so so much fun. We had a blast and would love to go back when the girls are just slightly taller and will be able to go on all the attractions. We were so thankful for Papa Baer taking us on this lovely weekend getaway. I was especially grateful he was there when on the second day I woke up and headed straight to the bathroom. I spent the morning throwing up and lying passed out practically on a lounge chair. Sucked for me but grateful everyone else was able to have so much fun!
