gone forever

Binkie. Pacifier. Plug. Call it what you want - it can no longer be found in our home.

Why is that? Two weeks ago we hid all 3 of them and went cold turkey! Brooklyn - she's doing well. After the first couple of days she returned back to her old self at sleeping time and was once again able to go to sleep on her own with absolutely no crying. So bye bye binkie! I think mommy may miss it more than you sometimes but we are all fairing quite well.

On to the diapers !!! Hopefully they will go bye bye in a few months as well :)

How bad were the first few days? Hayden only has his in his bed but I want it gone. I'm afraid the longer he has it the more he thinks he needs it.

Yeah for you!!!!! and Brooklyn, of course :)

Wow! That's a big step. Aubrey stopped using her binkie when she was 6 months old and started sucking on her fingers instead. And she is STILL doing it! It's easy to get rid of a binky, but how do you get rid of fingers?! Hehe.

Nice work!

Doesn't it always seem that we, as parents, fear for the loss of the lovie more than the kids actually experience?! Kind of funny...

sometimes i still wish my 3 year old had one! crazy, but good for you, it really only takes them a couple of days to level out! great job. don't rush yourself with the diapers, although i hear it's easier to potty train girls than it is boys.

Good for you. That is always such a big step. Luckily it never seems to be as bad as we think it is going to be. Good luck with the diapers!

We did cold turkey with Camille when she was 2. I know it is time to take it away from Maddie, but like you said it is harder on Mommy than anyone.

Yeah! you did it! I swear, binkies are mostly for parents anyways, soon you won't miss it at all and the best part about it is they are so much cuter in pictures w/out it blocking their smiles. How are you doing by the way? Any baby nausea?
