Our holiday weekend started a little early. On Wednesday my parents came and got Brooklyn and took her home with them for a couple of days. Justin and I enjoyed some stress free days of shopping, eating out, and enjoying quiet time around the house (not to mention trying everything possible to get this baby to come out!). On Friday night my family came back up and spent the Easter weekend with us. You can't get better than spending time with family, watching movies, and eating yummy food!
On Saturday morning Brooklyn took part in her very first Easter Egg Hunt. She caught on quickly and loved having my sisters help her fill her basket with eggs. Here she is with squirrel cheeks stuffed with one of our family favorites - robin eggs!
Later that day we took advantage of the nice weather and spent some time at the park. Brooklyn loved having my sisters there to chase her around, push her on the swings, and ride down the slides with her. My mom and I walked laps most of the time trying to bring on some contractions - did it work? Nada!
After a busy day of playing and shopping we relaxed that night and watched a movie together. The weekend would not have been complete without my sisters and Brooklyn doing yoga moves together. Somehow it has become a tradition whenever they're together!
On Easter morning Brooklyn awoke to find eggs hidden all over the house. Before she even made it to our bedroom down the hall to tell us she was awake she had collected some eggs in her basket. She had fun collecting the eggs from around the house and eventually finding her basket left by the Easter bunny!
Her favorite part of her basket were her books about the Savior. Here she is reading one of them. Second in line...the candy! I think it's almost all gone already. Treats don't last too long in our house!
Overall we had a wonderful weekend. Even though we bought eggs and stuff to dye them with we never ended up getting around to it. I'm excited for next year when I won't be 9 months pregnant and Brooklyn will be a little older and we can implement a few more traditions especially more to teach her about the Savior and why we celebrate Easter.
