Each year we like to go to a local petting farm for the kids to see the animals. This year Brooklyn's preschool class went in the spring just as all the new babies were being born. We saw many pregnant animals and lots of newborn babies - some less than a day old!
Since Brooklyn's was the student with the closest birthday she was chosen to come down to the front and feed the baby lamb. She did such a good job and that baby gobbled it's milk down in 2 seconds flat!
After learning about the animals the kids had the chance to venture outside with a cup full of food for the animals. Once all the kids were gathered outsdie with their feed they let the animals loose and all the goats race over and scarf down the kid's food!
Both the girl's did great! There was a constant giggle from the both of them until their food was gone in no time!
Afterward we went back into the barn and had the opportunity to hold lots of new baby animals - kittens, goats, bunnies, and chicks!
The little lamb Brooklyn was a little crazy but it found a special connection with Brooklyn's teacher. It loved her and calmed right down and snuggled up whenever it was around her :) I'm kind of surprised she didn't end up taking it home!
We had so much fun and can't wait to go again!
